Deuteronomy 2:1-25

GOD PROVIDES AND GOD DIRECTS

Keywords 2:7

The LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast desert. These forty years the LORD your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything.

1. God’s provision for 40 years in the desert (1-7)

God directed the people toward the wilderness where they wandered for 40

years. Still, God watched over them and was with them, so they did not lack a

thing. Their wilderness training was God’s disciplinary love for them.

2. Begin to take possession of the land (24-25)

God gave lands to Esau (descendants of Jacob) and to Moab and Ammon

(descendants of Lot), which Israel could not have. So, they were not to harass

them or provoke them to war. They had to pay for the food and water they took

from these lands. The time had come to take possession of the land. Still, Israel

had to fight for it. God would make all the nations fear them. God would give them

the land he promised them.

Prayer Lord, thank you for your provision and direction. I trust and follow you in

Jesus’ name.

One Word Trust God’s provision; follow God’s directions
