GOD DELIVERS TWO ENEMIES OVER

The LORD said to me, "Do not be afraid of him, for I have handed him over to you with his whole army and his land. "

 

1. God delivers King Sihon over to Israel (2:26-37)

 Moses offered peace and payment for provisions to King Sihon if he let them

pass through as others had done. But Sihon refused. God delivered Sihon and all

his allies over to Israel. Israel left no survivors. They kept only the plunder. In this

way, God brought judgment on the Amorites and gave Israel their land.

 

2. God delivers King Og over to Israel (3:1-11)

 King Og ruled over 60 fortified cities with high walls, gates, and bars. Og

came out to fight Israel, but God gave him over to Israel. All of Og’s allies were

destroyed. Only the plunder was kept. It was God’s judgment on the Amorites and

God’s fulfillment of his promises.

 

Prayer Lord God, your judgments are right and your promises are true. I fear

you. I trust your promises. I have victory over sin and evil forces in Jesus’

name. Amen.
