Luke 1:57-80 / Keywords 1:69
THE HORN OF SALVATION
1.
He is to be called John (57-64)
Elizabeth gave birth
to a son, and on the day of his circumcision, both Elizabeth
and Zechariah named
him John as the angel had said. They affirmed and
accepted God’s will upon their
son. Then Zechariah’s silence training
ended and
he praised God.
2.
He has raised up a horn of salvation (65-80)
God raised up Jesus,
the horn of salvation. Horn signifies strength and power
and authority. Jesus
came to crush the horns of Satan, to save us from the
power of sin and
death, to sanctify us, and to enable us to serve him without fear
in holiness and
righteousness! God would use John the Baptist to prepare the
hearts of people for
the Messiah so that people would turn to God. The Rising Sun
shines on those who
repent and guides us into the path of peace.
Prayer
Lord, I praise you
for Jesus the Horn of Salvation. Thank you, Lord Jesus,
for crushing the
power of Satan and enabling me to serve you in peace,
holiness, and
righteousness. Use me to prepare the hearts of others so
they may know and
turn to Jesus, the horn of salvation.
One
Word Jesus, the Horn of
Salvation
