MY SOUL GLORIFIES THE LORD
1.
Encouragement from Elizabeth (39-45)
Mary remembered the
angel’s
words and went to visit Elizabeth to support her,
as well as to find
support from an understanding woman of God. Filled with the
Holy Spirit,
Elizabeth confirmed God’s favor upon Mary and
also blessed her
child. She blessed
Mary’s faith that believed
the Lord’s will.
2.
My soul glorifies the Lord (46-59)
Mary was filled with
praise of God. God was mindful of her humble position. He
did great things for
her by calling her in his redemptive history. All generations
would call her
blessed. Mary further praised God whose mercy extends to all his
people who fear him
from every generation. His mighty arm scatters the proud and
lifts up the humble;
he fills the hungry with every good thing. God remembered his
people as he
promised. Through a descendant of Abraham, God sent Jesus the
Saviour.
Prayer
Lord, I praise you
for your mighty deeds. Thank you for blessing my life
through your
redemptive plan. Thank you for sending Jesus my Savior as
you promised.
