HE HAS RISEN!
Keywords 16:6
"Don't be
alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was
crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.
1. Jesus’ resurrection (1-14)
Early on the third
day, some women went to the tomb to anoint Jesus’ dead body with spices. When they arrived, the stone was rolled
away and Jesus’ body was not
there! An angel told them the good news: “He is not here. He has risen!” Jesus had overcome the power of death, just as he had promised
his disciples. But the disciples did not believe the testimony. Then the Risen
Jesus came and rebuked them for their stubborn refusal to believe. Jesus’ resurrection is an historical fact. It is the fulfillment of
his mission as the Son of God.
2. The great commission (15-20)
The Risen Jesus
commanded his disciples, “Go into all the
world and preach the good news to all creation.” The good news is that Jesus died for our sins and was raised on
the third day, according to the scriptures. Whoever believes will be saved.
Those who believe will receive the Holy Spirit and power from on high to carry
out his work.
Prayer Lord, I believe you have risen and are sitting at the right hand
of God. Empower me with your Spirit to tell the world.
One Word Jesus has risen!
