2 Chronicles 31:1-21

HEZEKIAH SOUGHT GOD AND WORKED WHOLEHEARTEDLY

Keywords 31:21

In everything that he undertook in the service of God's temple and in obedience to the law and the commands, he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered.

1. Idols removed, tithes brought in (1-8)

On the way back from the Passover celebration, the Israelites smashed the sacred stones, cut down the Asherah poles, and destroyed the high places and the altars in Judah and Israel. It was their decision to return to the true God and worship the LORD only. Hezekiah assigned duties to each division of the priests and Levites for temple worship. He resurrected offerings for temple services, tithes, and provisions for priests and the Levites so that they could devote themselves to the Law of the LORD. The people generously brought their offerings.

2. Hezekiah did what was good, right, and faithful before the LORD (9-21)

Hezekiah ordered the preparation of temple storerooms, and appointed Levites to oversee and distribute contributions, tithes, and gifts to the priests and Levites. As a good steward, Hezekiah did what was good, right, and faithful before God. In everything he undertook, he sought God, worked wholeheartedly, and was blessed to prosper.

Prayer Lord, thank you for your blessing on me. Help me to seek what is good and right in your sight and work wholeheartedly for your kingdom.

One Word Seek God and work wholeheartedly
