THE EYES OF THE LORD

For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.

 

1. Asa relied on Aram (1-9)

 In the 36th year of Asa’s reign, the king of Israel prevented anyone from leaving

or entering Asa’s territory. Instead of praying or relying on the Lord, Asa asked

Ben-Hadad, the king of Aram to save him by giving him silver and gold from the

temple. It worked. But it was a spiritual disaster. God sent Hanani to rebuke Asa’s

reliance on the king of Aram. The eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to

strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.

 

2. Asa did not repent (10-14)

 Asa was furious and put Hanani into prison. Later, when he got sick with a severe

disease, he did not seek help from the Lord. So Asa died in the 41st year of his

reign.

 

Prayer Lord, have mercy on me to keep on living by faith from the beginning to

the end!
