Genesis
16:1-16 / Keywords 16:13
YOU ARE THE GOD WHO SEES ME
1.
Sarah and Hagar (1-6)
10 years had passed
but God’s promise was not
fulfilled. Sarah’s patience
ran out. She felt
sorry to Abram that she gave her slave to him according to her
contemporary
practice. Abram should have refused her, instead of listening to her
like Adam. Then
unexpectedly Hagar despised Sarah when she was pregnant.
Sarah and Abram
argued blaming each other. The spiritual order was broken at
home. Sarah
mistreated Hagar and she fled. Now the whole thing massed up.
2.
I have seen the One who sees me (7-16)
But God had mercy on
Hagar because of Abram. He found her and gave the
direction to return
and submit herself to her mistress. Hagar obeyed God being
greatly comforted and
thanked for God’s grace and promise
even toward a slave
girl confessing, “ I
have now seen the One who sees me.” Thus she bore
Abraham
a son, Ishmael in his
86 years old. But the result of the human idea would give
history long
headaches too.
Prayer
Lord,
you are the one who sees and helps us up to our mistakes.
However,
help us not to be impatient but have faith in you and your word!
One
Word I have
seen the One who sees me
