DISCHARGES CAUSING UNCLEANNESS
Keywords 15:15
1.
Chapter 15 deals with regulations for a man with a discharge, for anyone made
unclean by an emission of semen, for a woman in her monthly period, for a man
or a woman with a discharge, and for a man who has sexual relations with a
woman who is ceremonially unclean. These private matters were brought to the
priest and were regulated in regards to being clean or unclean. From God’s point
of view, these conditions are normal and temporary, but not sinful. Yet they
make a person unclean because they carry elements of death. God who is Holy and
represents life cannot be in the same presence with death. Thus, they needed to
be cleansed before they could live near him.
2.
The ceremonial cleansing revealed the need for forgiveness and atonement to be
holy and acceptable to God. We are blessed that we don’t need
to follow these regulations for being cleansed of these discharges. We are
blessed because we are cleansed by Jesus’ blood
from elements of death around us to be holy and acceptable.
Prayer Father, thank you for Jesus who
cleanses us of all elements of death. Help us to be sanctified and live holy,
disciplined lives.
One Word Be
holy and acceptable before God
