EAGERLY AWAITING CHRIST

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

 

1. Keep your eyes on your role models (17-19)

 We need to keep our eyes on our role models who live the life of faith. We need

to be on guard against enemies of the cross, who are complacent and self-indulgent. They are destined for destruction. Their god is their stomach, their

glory is in shameful things, and their minds are gripped with worldly things. Don’t

pay attention to them!

 

2. Eagerly await for Christ (20-21)

 We are citizens of heaven! Praise the Lord! We have rights and privileges as

God’s dearly loved children! While on earth, we eagerly await for Christ Jesus our

Saviour to take us to his kingdom and transform our lowly bodies into heavenly,

immortal ones! No more will we be tempted or slaves of petty desires! We will be

Christlike!

 

Prayer Lord, forgive my self-indulgence. Help me to eagerly await for Christ my

Saviour to take me to his heavenly kingdom and be like Him!
