FOLLOW GOD’S WORD AND LIVE
Keywords 4:1a
Hear now, O Israel, the decrees and laws I am about to teach
you. Follow them so that you may live
1. Hear
and follow God’s word (1-8)
God gave his people commands, not suggestions.
These commands were to
give them
life (1) and wisdom and understanding (6). They must not add to or
subtract
from them according to their own feelings or ideas. They must hold fast
to the LORD
their God (4) and not follow idols (3). People who pray to God and
follow
God’s word show the world that God is great (7-8).
2. Be
careful not to forget (9-14)
Moses told them to be careful not to forget
all God’s mighty deeds. God gave
the Ten
Commandments to them in an awesome display of power (11). They heard
God’s word
but saw no form. They must remember all these things and teach
their
children. God’s people must remember all that God has done for them.
Prayer Thank you Lord, for all you’ve done
for us and your great grace, love and
mercy. I
follow your word and Spirit. In Jesus’ name.
One Word Hold fast to the LORD and live
